An elementary school principal from the Eastern York School District faces charges for driving while intoxicated.
Lee Hepler Jordan, 39, from Lititz, was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.126%, as reported by the Lititz Borough Police. This level surpasses the legal limit in Pennsylvania, which is .08%.
Jordan holds the position of principal at Kreutz Creek Elementary School, as stated on the district’s official website.
The Eastern District Superintendent, Joseph Mancuso III, expressed that the district would not comment on this personnel issue.
The incident occurred when police pulled over Jordan’s vehicle around 2:15 a.m. on February 28th on North Broad Street due to a problem with the vehicle’s equipment.
Authorities determined Jordan was intoxicated and arrested him. He then underwent a breath test at the police station.
Jordan faces charges for his first offenses of driving under the influence with general impairment and driving with a high rate of alcohol in his system. He was also cited for driving without headlights.
Following the arrest, Jordan was released from police custody.
He is scheduled for a preliminary arraignment and hearing on April 4 before District Judge David L. Ashworth, according to court records.
Attempts to reach Jordan’s lawyer, Brian Michael Sherbine, for comments were unsuccessful.
