In St. Louis, authorities have issued an arrest warrant for one individual involved in an attempted robbery at a Starbucks in Midtown, which occurred towards the end of last year.
The incident unfolded on December 17, 2023, at the Starbucks located within the Flying Saucer building at the intersection of South Grand Boulevard and Forest Park Avenue, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Joshua Noe and Marquise Porter-Doyle are the accused individuals. They allegedly entered the coffee shop, brandishing objects that resembled handguns. They then demanded that seven employees and one customer lie on the floor and surrender their valuables.
The duo instructed the employees to unlock the cash register and the safe. However, the employees could not access the safe.
During the confrontation, Noe reportedly hit an employee on the head with his weapon. When the weapon broke, it became clear that Noe’s “handgun” was fake. This revelation prompted the employees to fight back against Noe and Porter-Doyle.
The scuffle continued until law enforcement arrived. Noe was apprehended at the scene, while Porter-Doyle managed to flee but was captured shortly thereafter.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged Noe with multiple counts, including three counts of first-degree robbery and six counts of first-degree attempted robbery, among others. Noe will be detained without the possibility of bond upon his arrest.
Porter-Doyle faces similar charges and has been ordered to remain in custody until his trial. He has already appeared in preliminary hearings and is scheduled for another court appearance on Wednesday, March 20.
