Palmetto Animal Urgent Care Now Open for Nighttime Pet Emergencies in Spartanburg

Emergencies don’t stick to regular business hours, and now, thanks to a new veterinary clinic on the west side, Spartanburg’s pet owners have a go-to place for after-hours medical needs.

Palmetto Animal Urgent Care opened its doors on March 4. This urgent care facility is an expansion of the Palmetto Animal Clinic, which you can find at 1248 Southport Road.

At this clinic, veterinarians Dr. Stefanie Gagliardi and Dr. Meagan Payton-Russell work together to provide a range of services. They offer both diagnostic and surgical treatments, including emergency surgeries like c-sections and procedures for bloat. Dr. Gagliardi brings her expertise in small animal reproduction and practice management, while Dr. Payton-Russell focuses on emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Palmetto Animal Urgent Care stands out as one of only two clinics in Spartanburg that remain open past 7 p.m., and it’s the only one that’s privately owned. The other option for late-night pet care is UrgentVet-Spartanburg, located at 111 E Blackstock Road, which opened its doors in November.

Before the arrival of these clinics, pet owners in need of urgent care during the evening or nighttime had no choice but to make the drive to Greenville, where the closest 24-hour veterinary services are located.

Dr. Payton-Russell mentioned the high demand for veterinary care, noting that both daytime and emergency veterinarians are feeling the pressure. Palmetto Animal Urgent Care aims to bridge the gap, providing relief and support where it’s most needed.

The clinic operates from 5-11 p.m. on weekdays and extends its hours from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends. Each shift is staffed by one doctor and three to four technicians, ensuring that pets receive the care and attention they need.

For pet owners looking to seek care, pre-registration is available at palmetto-vet-urgentcare.com, or they can call 864-764-4504 for more information.
