How the Seminoles’ Impressive 18-0 Start Positions Them in the Latest Rankings

In Tallahassee, the Florida State baseball team stands out as the only unbeaten team across the nation. With an impressive 18-0 start, they’re second only to the 2007 team, which began with a 23-0 record.

This week, the Seminoles maintained their winning streak. They secured a victory against Florida midweek and swept Notre Dame at home as they kicked off their ACC play. Remarkably, they’ve been behind for only five out of 162 innings in their 18 games.

Curious about their ranking? Last week, FSU was recognized in four major polls. Let’s see where they rank now.

Baseball America now places them at No. 7, a significant jump from No. 21 last week. Perfect Game ranks them at No. 8, up from No. 19. As for D1Baseball and NCBWA, their current rankings are awaited, showing an improvement from last week’s positions. The USA Today Coaches Poll is also to be announced, where they were previously No. 22.

The team’s performance has been stellar, hitting home runs in 13 consecutive games. This achievement is the third-longest in the school’s history. Additionally, they’ve played five games in a row without a single error and have kept errors to zero in 12 of their 18 games. This streak of excellence extends to 20 consecutive wins, dating back to last season, tying for the eighth-longest streak in the program’s history.

Next up, Florida State will host Stetson on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Fans can catch the action streamed on ACCNX. The Hatters come into the game with a 13-8 record.
