Trump Demands Legal Action Against Liz Cheney, Who Fires Back with a Response

Donald Trump, the former President, has recently expressed his desire for one of his vocal critics to be legally charged.

In a statement made on Truth Social and also shared on X, Trump directed his frustration towards former Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.). He stated, “She should face legal action for her actions against our country! She illegally got rid of evidence. It’s unbelievable!!!”

Trump’s comments were in response to a claim made by The Federalist. The claim suggested that Cheney had “suppressed” evidence during the investigation of the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

Cheney quickly responded to Trump’s accusations. She pointed out, “Shouting in all caps doesn’t make it the truth, Donald.” She further mentioned, “You and your legal team have had access to the evidence for a long time.”

The controversy revolves around an article written by Kash Patel, a former official in the Trump administration. Patel criticized the investigation of the January 6 event.

Patel accused Cheney of distorting facts about Trump’s actions before January 6. He argued that Cheney was misleading people about whether Trump had authorized the deployment of National Guard troops to maintain order on that day.

Patel criticized Cheney for her approach to the information related to the Russia investigation. He suggested that her stance changed when she perceived Trump as a threat to her family’s political legacy and their interests in the defense industry.

According to Patel, Cheney and her associates “suppressed evidence.” He claimed this evidence not only supports the truth about Trump’s decision to authorize National Guard troops but also clears Trump of the accusations of inciting an insurrection.
