In Franklinville, New Jersey, a heartwarming tale of rescue unfolded earlier this week when a dog named Daisy found herself in a precarious situation. Daisy had somehow managed to get her head stuck in a tire rim, leaving her in a distressing predicament. The tire, located in the backyard of her family’s home, became an unexpected trap for the curious canine.
Daisy’s owner, Austin Delano, recounted the initial efforts to free her, saying, “We tried moving it, thinking it would just slide right out. But clearly, getting her head in there was one thing; getting it out proved to be another challenge entirely.”
Upon their arrival, first responders were met with the sight of Daisy’s head protruding through a large Firestone tire. The Franklinville Volunteer Fire Company and Franklin Township Police Department sprang into action, supporting the tire as they devised a plan to liberate Daisy. Despite initial attempts with soap and water, the conventional methods were unsuccessful.
In a turn of resourcefulness, Lt. Brandon Volpe of the fire department employed his personal plasma cutter in a delicate operation to cut Daisy free. The fire department shared, “This is the dedication and commitment you can expect from the FVFC each time we respond to a call. We are grateful to everyone who responded today to help Daisy.”
Miraculously, Daisy emerged from the ordeal without injury and has been doing well since her rescue. The incident serves as a testament to the community’s spirit and the lengths to which the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Company and local police are willing to go to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, human and animal alike.
