Over the weekend, a tragic event unfolded outside a bar on the East Side, leaving the El Paso community in shock. Late at night, a shooting occurred, resulting in one fatality and several injuries. The incident took place outside the Rock City Bar & Grill, located in the 2200 block of Trawood Drive near Lee Trevino Drive, shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 16. The area was quickly cordoned off with red crime-scene tape as authorities began their investigation.
In a related court case, a man admitted to a murder charge connected to a fatal shooting at Coconuts bar in Socorro. He has received his sentence for the crime. This incident adds to the growing concerns over violence in nightlife spots.
The shooting at Rock City Bar & Grill left three individuals critically injured and rushed to the hospital. It’s believed that a fourth victim might have sought medical attention independently. Sadly, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The identities of those involved have not been released.
El Paso police’s homicide detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit are diligently working on the case. However, no arrests have been made so far.
