In San Antonio, a search is underway for a woman accused of striking a man with her car in the early hours of Sunday morning on the city’s West Side.
The event unfolded at approximately 3:45 a.m. in the 2000 block of Hidalgo Street.
Upon their arrival at the scene in the West Side neighborhood, San Antonio police found a damaged and deserted Ford Focus near an unconscious 38-year-old man. The man was quickly transported to a local hospital by emergency responders, where he is currently in critical condition, according to police reports.
Investigators at the scene managed to secure video evidence. The footage captured the man running westbound on Hidalgo Street before being hit by the Ford, which subsequently crashed at a high speed.
The video further revealed a 38-year-old woman exiting the vehicle and fleeing the scene of the crash. Initial findings by the San Antonio Police Department suggest that the collision was intentional and that the woman and the victim were in a relationship.
Should the suspect be located, she will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resulting in serious bodily injury, authorities have stated.
