The incident occurred at the rooming house located at 234 Tripp St. Emergency responders rushed to provide assistance to Joseph Bump, the victim of a fatal stabbing. Despite their efforts, Bump succumbed to his injuries at Saint Anne’s Hospital shortly before 10:30 p.m. that Friday.

Pedro Fernando Orellano Alvarado, 42, was taken into custody at the crime scene. He faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Alvarado spent the weekend in jail, awaiting his court appearance scheduled for Monday morning at Fall River District Court.

Both the victim and the accused were residents of the rooming house, shedding light on the close quarters in which this tragedy unfolded.

In a separate incident on Cape Cod, a 41-year-old man, bearing the wounds of multiple gunshots, sought refuge in a Hyannis home on Winter Street. The event, occurring Friday afternoon, prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement.

The injured man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly shot by a 26-year-old known to him. Following the shooting, he was transported to Cape Cod Hospital and later to a Boston medical facility for further treatment. By Saturday morning, he was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities arrested the 26-year-old shooter without any complications. He faces several charges, including assault by a dangerous weapon and assault to murder, along with other firearms-related offenses. Held on a $100,000 cash bail, his arraignment is set for Monday at Barnstable District Court.

Meanwhile, in Roxbury, Boston police are on the lookout for two individuals linked to an assault and battery incident. The assault, which took place on Warren Street around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, is under thorough investigation. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could aid their search.

In a distressing event in Revere, a 28-year-old woman from East Boston lost her life. Sofia Isabel Mejia Zambrano was crossing Squire Road when a vehicle struck her, leading to fatal consequences. The driver remained at the scene, and as of now, no charges have been filed.

Authorities have informed Zambrano’s husband, who resides in Ecuador, about the tragic loss. The Suffolk County District Attorney expressed deep condolences to Zambrano’s family, highlighting the profound sadness of losing a loved one at such a young age.
