Tragic Incident in Harris County: Toddler Fatally Struck by Rideshare Vehicle

In a tragic incident in north Harris County, Texas, a young toddler lost her life after an encounter with a rideshare driver. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared the heartbreaking details of the event.

The incident unfolded on Waverly Drive near Greens Road. The driver, who was in the process of dropping off a family, including the toddler, did not see the little girl in front of the vehicle as he began to move forward.

Unaware of the toddler’s presence, the driver accidentally struck her. Following this, the family, in a state of shock and grief, pulled the driver out of the vehicle and assaulted him.

The toddler was urgently taken to the hospital but, sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The rideshare driver, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the assault, was also hospitalized.

The young girl was just a few months away from celebrating her second birthday, making this incident even more heart-wrenching.

This tragedy has deeply affected the community and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety around vehicles.
