Brett Goldstein, ‘Shrinking’ Co-Creator, Expands Role by Joining Season 2 Cast

Brett Goldstein, known for his role in “Ted Lasso,” is set to grace the screen in the second season of “Shrinking,” the Apple dramedy he co-created. Despite previous efforts to include him in the cast not coming to fruition, a role that seems to have been tailor-made for him has finally emerged. Although details about this role are tightly under wraps, Goldstein will feature as a guest star in the currently filming Season 2.

“Shrinking” tells the compelling story of a grieving therapist, Jimmy, portrayed by Jason Segel, who decides to abandon conventional therapy methods. He opts to be brutally honest with his clients, leading to significant and often chaotic changes in their lives, as well as his own. The show boasts a stellar cast including Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Ted McGinley.

The performances of Segel and Williams as therapists have been recognized with Emmy Award nominations, highlighting the show’s impact and the strength of its storytelling.

The series is the brainchild of Emmy winners Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, who also served as executive producers on “Ted Lasso,” and Jason Segel. Produced by Warner Bros. Television, “Shrinking” benefits from the creative minds of a team including Lawrence, Segel, Goldstein, Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, and Annie Mebane.

Following his memorable stint as Roy Kent in “Ted Lasso,” which concluded after three seasons, Goldstein embarked on his first global stand-up tour, “Brett Goldstein: The Second Best Night Of Your Life.” He continues to captivate audiences with upcoming performances in Los Angeles. His portrayal of Roy Kent earned him two Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.

Next, Goldstein is set to showcase his voice acting talents in “The Garfield Movie,” set to hit theaters on May 24, promising fans another dimension of his versatile acting prowess.
