‘Greg Vaughan, Star of ‘Days of Our Lives,’ Hospitalized Due to Lung Complications’

Greg Vaughan is on the mend after a frightening health scare landed him in the hospital. It turns out, the cause was a rapid ascent to high altitude.

Vaughan, a familiar face from the soap opera world, is celebrated for his roles as Eric Brady in “Days of Our Lives” and Lucky Spencer in “General Hospital.” Earlier this week, he shared photos of himself using an oxygen machine.

The actor reassured his followers that he was okay but had to seek urgent medical care due to severe altitude sickness.

Vaughan had taken his children to Breckenridge, Colorado, for a skiing and snowboarding holiday. However, just a day into their trip, he began to feel exhausted, congested, and short of breath, which was far from the relaxing vacation he had planned.

In an attempt to alleviate his symptoms, Vaughan took NyQuil and drank plenty of Pedialyte. Unfortunately, these measures were not enough, prompting him to descend the mountain for medical help.

Initially, Vaughan did not believe his condition was serious. However, he soon learned that his blood oxygen level had dropped to a dangerous 54%, and his lungs were beginning to fill with fluid.

Medical professionals quickly administered IVs and advised him to move to a lower altitude.

Reflecting on his ordeal, Vaughan emphasizes the seriousness of the Rocky Mountains and urges caution to anyone planning a ski trip.

From starring in “General Hospital” to a real-life hospital stay, Vaughan’s experience serves as a cautionary tale. Thankfully, he’s on the road to recovery and grateful for the lesson learned.
