Jon Bon Jovi has opened up about his future touring possibilities following his vocal cord surgery in 2022.
During a recent radio interview, the renowned lead singer of Bon Jovi, aged 61, shared that he is still in the recovery phase from his surgery. He expressed uncertainty about going on tour to promote the band’s upcoming album, *Forever*, set to release this summer.
“I’m unsure about touring,” Bon Jovi admitted to Mix 104.1 Boston. He mentioned his desire to tour next year but highlighted his ongoing recovery from significant surgery.
The “Livin’ on a Prayer” vocalist underwent surgery in 2022 due to one of his vocal cords “atrophying” — with one being as thick as a thumb and the other as thin as a pinky, as reported by *People*.
“Even though I’m on my way to recovery and managed to record a song a day for the album, my ultimate goal is to perform for two-and-a-half hours, four nights a week, for several months,” Bon Jovi shared with the radio station. He is working hard to achieve this goal.
Earlier this year, Jon Bon Jovi received honors at the MusiCares 33rd Person of the Year gala in Los Angeles. At the event on February 2, he performed “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” alongside Bruce Springsteen. The gala also featured performances by Melissa Etheridge, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Pat Monahan, Shania Twain, and the Goo Goo Dolls.
Bon Jovi’s 16th album, *Forever*, is set to be released on June 7. The band introduced the album’s first single, the energetic rock tune “Legendary,” on March 14.
Jon Bon Jovi described the album as a “return to joy.” He emphasized that from its writing to the recording process, the album is meant to be a feel-good experience that encourages listeners to turn up the volume and enjoy.
