A huge fire engulfed Cara Delevingne’s Los Angeles residence on March 15, leaving two individuals injured and causing great distress to the model and actress. Shortly after the fire, she updated her fans through her Instagram stories, expressing her initial fear of having lost her two cats. She shared a picture of her cherished pets, revealing her heartache over the incident.
Cara Delevingne was in London, engaged in her role in the musical “Cabaret” at the West End’s Playhouse Theatre since March 11, when her Studio City mansion caught fire. The fire was reported to the Los Angeles Fire Department around 4 a.m., according to KTLA5, a Los Angeles television station. A team of around 100 firefighters was dispatched to the scene, ensuring the safety of her house sitter and two cats from the 6,650-square-foot property.
Following the fire, Delevingne was uncertain about the safety of her cats. She shared their photo, stating, “My heart is broken today. I cannot believe it. Life can change in a blink of an eye so cherish what you have.” Later, she reassured her followers that her pets were safe, expressing her gratitude to the firefighters and everyone who offered help, and shared images of their rescue.
After ensuring the safety of Delevingne’s house sitter and cats, firefighters extinguished the fire. The operation lasted over two hours, leading to the collapse of the roof, as reported by the Associated Press. During the effort, two firefighters sustained injuries—one due to a ladder incident and the other from minor smoke inhalation.
Delevingne’s parents, Charles and Pandora, were in London to see her perform in “Cabaret” and shared with TMZ the challenges their daughter faced since the fire. At that time, the family was still unaware of the cats’ whereabouts, and Pandora mentioned that Delevingne had her entire life in that house.
The cause of the fire remains undisclosed by the LA Fire Department. However, Charles speculated that an electrical issue, possibly related to “power lines” and exacerbated by strong winds, might have sparked the blaze.
Despite the ordeal, Delevingne appears committed to continuing her performances in “Cabaret,” embodying the adage that the show must go on.
