Charming Cat Sipping from Personal Glass Crowned Pet of the Week

This week, we’ve been touched by stories of pets that tug at our heartstrings. From an old dog relishing a meal from McDonald’s to a young foster puppy forming an unbreakable bond with another dog in the home, these tales have warmed our hearts.

We’ve also enjoyed watching viral videos that melt our hearts and reading stories submitted by our readers for the Newsweek Pet of the Week.

If you believe your pet has what it takes to be the next Pet of the Week, keep reading to learn how you can participate.

This week’s star is Franklin, a cat with a remarkable story. Once a stray wandering the streets, Franklin now enjoys meals at the table with his owners, Andrea and Alice, in New York. They found him on Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn and decided to bring him home, where he joined their two other cats.

Franklin, affectionately known as the “spaghetti cat” due to his length, is not only intelligent but also a constant companion to his owners. He loves joining them at the table and even has his own glass to drink water from, as Andrea shared in a video.

Our first finalist is Scarlett, a small Shih Tzu with a big heart. Despite being born with a deformed spine, Scarlett, living with her owner Michelle Smith, doesn’t let anything slow her down. Michelle uses Scarlett’s Instagram page to advocate for rescue and special needs pets, sharing their adventures and stylish outfits under the handle @scarlettsfaith.

Next, we have Archie, a brown and white tabby cat who loves the spotlight. Owned by Tracy Scalia, Archie has been a part of their family since he was six weeks old. Known for his love of posing for the camera, Archie also enjoys playing on the iPad and spending time with his orange tabby friend.

Lastly, we introduce Bodhi, a black Labrador from North Carolina who lives with Janie Neely. Adopted from a local humane society, Bodhi is a toy enthusiast who loves going on adventures, whether it’s a car ride, a walk, a trip to daycare, or a visit to Lowe’s for some extra attention and treats.
