Travis Kelce and his former partner, Kayla Nicole, came together to support Kylie Kelce, Travis’s sister-in-law, during a tough time following the loss of her beloved dog.
Travis, a star player for the Kansas City Chiefs and brother to Kylie’s husband, Jason Kelce, shared a heartfelt message on her social media tribute. “🥺🥺 You gave Winn an amazing life, Ky!!” he wrote on Friday.
Kayla Nicole, Travis’s recent ex-girlfriend, also expressed her condolences. “Winnie girl. What a sweet life she lived. ❤,” she commented.
Kylie, 31, shared the sad news on Instagram Thursday, announcing that her dog, Winn, had passed away.
She posted a touching tribute to Winn, describing the Irish wolfhound as everything she had hoped for in a pet and more.
“I lost part of my soul today, but I know she is at peace. I love you, Winn. You will always be my first-born child,” Kylie expressed her grief.
After Nicole’s comment, some fans criticized her since Travis, 34, is now reportedly dating Taylor Swift. Swift has not publicly commented, and it’s unknown if she offered her condolences privately.
One critic suggested Nicole should have sent her message privately instead of commenting publicly.
Kylie and her husband, Jason, received messages of support during this difficult time.
Some social media users criticized Nicole for seeking attention with her public comment.
Another fan mentioned that Nicole knew the potential backlash her comment could cause, calling it “straight messy.”
However, some defended Nicole, highlighting her right to offer condolences given her past close relationship with the Kelce family.
“Kylie did nothing to her though. She can still like, follow, and comment on someone she spent years around and fell in love with. It’s called maturity,” a supporter said.
Nicole and Travis had an on-and-off relationship from 2017 to 2022, during which she became close to his family and friends.
The Fabletics ambassador and the three-time Super Bowl champion first got together in 2017 but split in the summer of 2020. They briefly reconciled before ending things for good in May 2022.
In September 2023, Travis made his relationship with Taylor Swift public when she attended one of his games, cheering him on from a private suite alongside his mom, Donna Kelce.
While Travis’s new relationship with the “Bad Blood” singer has been in the spotlight, Nicole has shared cryptic messages on social media.
Travis has not publicly responded to Nicole’s posts but unfollowed her on Twitter after she showed interest in Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
