Biden’s 2024 Campaign War Chest Grows to $155M with $53M Raised in Just One Month

In Washington, President Joe Biden’s 2024 election campaign has gathered an impressive $155 million in cash, significantly outpacing his Republican rival, Donald Trump.

Last month alone, Biden’s campaign raised $53 million. This marked the most successful month of grassroots fundraising since the campaign’s inception, say campaign officials. A notable highlight was a March 28 fundraiser in New York, featuring Biden alongside Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, which contributed $4 million to the total raised last month.

Biden expressed his enthusiasm in a recent radio interview with WNOV 860 in Wisconsin. He highlighted the campaign’s strong financial support, noting, “We’ve raised a lot of money. We have 1.5 million donors, with 500,000 being new small donors; 97% of our donations are under $200.”

Both Biden and Trump have secured their party nominations, setting the stage for a 2024 election rematch.

As for Trump, his campaign’s financial details for February remain undisclosed. By January’s end, his two main committees had a combined $36.6 million in cash. These committees spent more than they earned that month, with a significant portion of the expenses attributed to legal fees from Trump’s numerous court cases. Complete financial details for the Trump campaign will be available in April.

Biden’s campaign boasts the highest cash on hand ever recorded by a Democratic candidate at this stage, according to the campaign. Efforts to rally Biden supporters, particularly through emails highlighting concerns about Trump, significantly boosted support last month.

Jaime Harrison, leader of the Democratic National Committee, contrasted the financial situations of the Biden campaign and Trump’s, stating, “While Joe Biden and Democrats continue to achieve historic grassroots fundraising numbers, Donald Trump and the RNC are facing financial challenges. Our grassroots supporters are fully aware of the high stakes this year and are contributing as if our democracy depends on it—because it does.”
