On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee’s hearing took an unexpected turn. Tony Bobulinski, who once partnered with Hunter Biden in business, made serious accusations against Democratic Representatives Jamie Raskin and Dan Goldman. He claimed they were not telling the truth.
Bobulinski expressed his belief that Raskin and Goldman would persist in their dishonesty to shield the Biden family. This led to Raskin cutting him off mid-sentence.
Bobulinski accused both Raskin and Goldman, who are experienced lawyers, of planning to spread falsehoods during the hearing and then repeating those falsehoods to the press. He also mentioned Hunter Biden’s defense attorney, Abbe Lowell, accusing him of using letters to Congress as a means to tarnish Bobulinski’s reputation.
Raskin attempted to interject, saying, “Mr. Chairman.”
Despite the interruption, Bobulinski continued, focusing on the actions of Lowell. He challenged Lowell to publicly stand by his claims, suggesting a national TV appearance for accountability.
The chairman of the Oversight Committee, James Comer, apologized to Bobulinski for the disturbance and encouraged him to proceed with his statement.
Raskin then questioned whether the rules of decorum applied to witnesses, referencing House Rule 11. Comer responded, indicating that while there are decorum expectations for members, the same rules do not explicitly apply to witnesses.
Bobulinski has previously accused President Joe Biden of lying about his involvement in his son’s business dealings. He claimed that the Biden family attempted to commit fraud against him during their partnership.
He was part of a group involved in Oneida Holdings, a company formed with Hunter Biden and others, aiming to establish a business deal with China Energy Company (CEFC). Bobulinski accused the Biden family of using their name to advance their business interests aggressively.
In February, Bobulinski alleged that China sought to compromise the Bidens and the Obama White House. He claimed that these dealings enriched the Biden family by millions of dollars, contradicting claims that the now-president was not financially involved in his son’s business ventures.
The article also touches on Hunter Biden’s denial of his father’s financial involvement in his business deals and the then-presidential candidate’s false statements regarding profits from China.
The hearing also saw moments of tension, including threats to subpoena Bobulinski and disputes over the evidence of wrongdoing by the Bidens.
