Santos Quips Swift’s Support for Biden Reelection ‘Fits’ Her Song Theme of Picking ‘the Wrong Guy’

George Santos, the former Representative from New York, recently shared his thoughts on Taylor Swift potentially backing President Biden for a second term. He finds it fitting, given that a large portion of Swift’s music revolves around the theme of making poor choices in partners.

Santos took to X, previously known as Twitter, to express his viewpoint. He tweeted, “Noticing Taylor Swift might endorse Joe Biden for president. It seems quite fitting, considering her track record in songs about picking the wrong partner. Perhaps, we’ll be treated to a Taylor Swift song expressing regret over Biden by 2025…”

Swift, who publicly supported Biden in the 2020 election, has yet to declare her support for the 2024 race. Recently, she has been the subject of right-wing conspiracy theories. These theories suggest that the NFL rigged games in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs, the team of Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, to facilitate a Super Bowl appearance and a subsequent endorsement for Biden.

In a move to encourage civic participation, Swift urged her followers to vote on Super Tuesday. She shared a message on her Instagram story, emphasizing the importance of voting for representatives who truly reflect their values.

“Make sure to vote today if you haven’t,” Swift reminded her audience. She also advised them to verify their polling locations and timings, providing a link to Vote.org, a platform she has recommended before.

Santos has openly expressed his fondness for Taylor Swift’s music, particularly the song “I Knew You Were Trouble.” In a video believed to be from Cameo, he mentioned that “Trouble” is his top pick from Swift’s discography, a hit from her 2012 album “Red.”
