This week, TRN Sports is rolling out a series of fan’s choice polls for the baseball season. The spotlight is on the Midseason Pitcher of the Year.
Once a player clinches this title, they’re out of the running for future nominations in the same sport within the academic year. However, they secure a place in the Athlete of the Year poll happening at the school year’s end.
Let’s take a look at the champions so far:
For the week of August 21, the honor went to Bailey Bannon from Wichita Christian for volleyball.
The following week, on August 28, Skyler Smith from Nocona took the volleyball title.
On September 4, Megg Lindley from Windthorst shone in volleyball.
Jocelyn Turner from Henrietta claimed the week of September 11 for volleyball.
Mikayla Miller from Iowa Park was the volleyball star for the week of September 18.
Kylee Seward from Henrietta stood out in volleyball during the week of September 25.
Switching to football, Carter Sales from Iowa Park grabbed the spotlight for the week of October 2.
Parker Allen, also from Iowa Park, was the football name for the week of October 9.
Annikah Frank from Windthorst returned to volleyball to win the week of October 16.
Tyrone Morgan from Rider took the football title for the week of October 23.
When it came to midseason MVPs, Kenna Wood from Holliday shined in girls basketball, and Caiden Reed from Rider led in boys basketball.
Skyler Smith from Nocona made a comeback in girls basketball for the week of January 8.
Rylee Wolf from Windthorst took the girls basketball title for the week of January 15.
For the week of January 22, Megyn Meekins from Nocona was the standout in girls basketball.
Bailee Bowers from Holliday followed in girls basketball for the week of January 29.
Kyra Taylor from City View was the girls basketball star for the week of February 5.
Turning to softball, Kirstyn Barnard from Henrietta was named Midseason Softball Pitcher.
Karissa Fillingim from Windthorst took the title of Midseason Softball Batter.
