Patriots Boost Offense by Signing Ex-Vikings Wide Receiver K.J. Osborn for 2024 Season

The New England Patriots have successfully signed a free agent receiver. Following their inability to secure Calvin Ridley, they’ve brought on board K.J. Osborn, a former Vikings receiver, as reported by NFL Media.

Osborn was among the most sought-after wideouts available in the second week of free agency. He now joins the Patriots’ receiving team, which includes Kendrick Bourne, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Jalen Reagor.

Despite being in a Vikings receiving group with many options, Osborn’s performance was noteworthy. Over the last three years, he demonstrated remarkable consistency, catching 50, 60, and 48 passes in each year, respectively, and scoring a total of 15 touchdowns. His ability to pose a threat from deep played a significant role in creating opportunities for his teammates Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson.

This season, Osborn is expected to be on the receiving end of passes from a rookie quarterback. The Patriots, having traded quarterback Mac Jones to the Miami Dolphins last week, are anticipated to pick a quarterback with the No. 3 overall selection in April’s draft. They are reportedly interested in LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who achieved 50 total touchdowns in his final season with the Tigers.

Additionally, the Patriots are likely to draft several receivers next month, aiming for picks towards the end of Day 2 and the beginning of Day 3.
