MINNEAPOLIS — The Wisconsin team, seeded fifth with a record of 21-12, is currently on a winning streak. They’ve secured their spot in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2019. Their recent triumph was a 70-61 win against the fourth-seeded Northwestern this past Friday at the Target Center.
The challenge they face now is significant.
The Badgers are set to compete against the top-seeded Purdue, which boasts a 29-3 record, for the third time this season, and remarkably, for the second time in just six days. Wisconsin aims to overturn their two regular-season defeats and make it to the Big Ten Tournament final, a feat they last achieved in 2017.
Purdue made it to this stage by securing a 67-62 victory over ninth-seeded Michigan State in the quarterfinals. As the regular season champions and the defending tournament champions, they are on a six-game winning streak.
The question now is whether the Badgers can halt their three-game losing streak against Purdue. Or will the Boilermakers secure a spot in the title game for the second year running?
