Carroll County Woman Fatally Injured in Solo-Vehicle Accident in Tuscarawas County

In Tuscarawas County, Ohio, a tragic incident occurred when a Carroll County woman lost her life in a car accident early Sunday morning. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the unfortunate event.

The accident took place shortly before 3 a.m. on State Route 39 in Union Township. A 2009 Dodge Challenger, driven by 48-year-old Richard Sickels of Sherrodsville, was heading east. Near milepost 22, the car veered off the right side of the road, hitting a guardrail. The vehicle then overcorrected, leading to it striking a ditch on the left side of the road and flipping over.

Jennifer Sickels, 46, also from Sherrodsville, was found deceased at the crash site. The authorities suspect that alcohol played a role in this tragic accident.

Additionally, two passengers in the back seat, a 25-year-old from Baltic and a 24-year-old man from Dennison, were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries. It was noted that none of the individuals in the car were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
