In Mooresville, North Carolina, authorities have detained a man following a high-speed pursuit. This incident involved the man colliding with two police vehicles.
The event unfolded just after 8 p.m. on a Saturday. Mooresville police spotted a white Chevrolet Corvette at the Langtree Market on Mecklynn Road. This vehicle had previously evaded a police checkpoint the night before.
The Mooresville Police Department identified the vehicle as belonging to Carlos Manuel Clark, who is wanted under an active warrant.
Attempting to apprehend the suspect, officers tried to encircle the Corvette. However, the driver managed to escape, striking two Mooresville patrol cars in his flight.
The pursuit continued south on Interstate 77. The driver eventually pulled over near Gilead Road, exited the vehicle, and attempted to flee on foot. Mooresville officers, assisted by a K-9 unit, successfully apprehended him.
The driver, identified as Christopher Lewis Clark, is the twin brother of the Corvette’s registered owner. At the time of his arrest, Christopher was found to be carrying a concealed handgun.
Christopher Lewis Clark has been taken to the Iredell County jail, where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
