Neal P. Owens Champions the Fight Against ALS at Washington DC Walk Event

Thank you for your invaluable support in helping me achieve my fundraising goal for the Walk to Defeat ALS! This event is pivotal in garnering funds to aid those battling ALS and in amplifying the call for urgent development of treatments and a cure.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relentless, invariably fatal disorder that gradually deprives individuals of their ability to move, speak, swallow, and ultimately breathe. On average, individuals diagnosed with ALS have a life expectancy of 2 to 5 years. ALS does not discriminate; it can affect anyone, and currently, its cause remains elusive, as does its cure.

This is precisely why I’ve committed to participating in the walk. My aim is to alter the grim statistics, to extend support and hope to those enduring this condition, and to strive for a future where the phrase “You Have ALS” becomes obsolete.

The last two years have been marked by remarkable progress in ALS research, improved access to care for those living with ALS, and the enactment of legislation that enhances the lives of individuals with ALS and their families.

However, our journey doesn’t end here. The pathway to discovering a cure starts with your contribution.

I invite you to join me in this walk or to support me through sponsorship. Together, we have the power to make a significant impact on the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
