Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine recently wrapped up SXSW with the debut of their new film, “The Idea of You.” This movie is set to hit Prime Video on May 2.
“The Idea of You” takes its story from a novel penned by Robinne Lee. It tells the tale of a single mother who, after taking her daughter to Coachella, finds herself in a romance with a boyband’s lead singer.
A new trailer for “The Idea Of You” showcases Anne Hathaway falling for the Styles-esque charm of Nicholas Galitzine in this fresh romantic dramedy.
In the film, Hathaway embodies the role of Solène, a 40-year-old single mother. Her life takes a turn when she meets 24-year-old Hayes Campbell, portrayed by Galitzine. Campbell is the celebrated lead vocalist of August Moon, the world’s most beloved boy band. Solène’s journey to Coachella, initially intended as a chaperoning trip for her teenage daughter after her ex-husband cancels, leads to a serendipitous meeting with Hayes, sparking an immediate and powerful connection.
Their whirlwind romance soon faces the trials of Hayes’ fame, challenging their relationship. Solène realizes that being with someone in the public eye might demand more than she’s ready to give.
“The Idea of You” has set a record as the most-watched trailer for a streaming movie, according to Amazon MGM. The screenplay, crafted by Showalter and Jennifer Westfeldt, draws inspiration from Robinne Lee’s novel. The film’s production team includes Cathy Schulman, Gabrielle Union, Anne Hathaway, Robinne Lee, Eric Hayes, Michael Showalter, and Jordana Mollick.
