Mike and Marcus have made a thrilling return in the premiere trailer for *Bad Boys: Ride or Die*. The film, distributed by Sony, is set to hit theaters on June 7 and marks a significant comeback on several levels. This movie represents Will Smith’s first major film endeavor following his incident with Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. Additionally, it heralds the return of directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the creative minds behind *Batgirl*, a project that Warner Bros. Discovery decided to cancel in 2022 for tax purposes.
Known collectively as Adil & Bilall, the duo previously achieved success with *Bad Boys for Life*. Released just before the COVID-19 pandemic led to worldwide theater closures, it emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2020. Their talents were further showcased in 2022 when Marvel released episodes of the Disney+ series *Ms. Marvel*, which they directed.
The *Bad Boys* saga began with a 1995 film directed by Michael Bay, who also directed the 2003 sequel, *Bad Boys 2*. The series, which chronicles the exploits of two Miami police officers, played a significant role in catapulting Smith to stardom. The original film was released a year before he landed breakthrough roles in *Independence Day* and, subsequently, *Men in Black*.
*Bad Boys for Life* saw Smith and Martin Lawrence teaming up with a younger cast, including Vanessa Hudgens and Alexander Ludwig, who are all set to return for the sequel.
