Sony Pictures has just unveiled the eagerly awaited trailer for “Bad Boys 4,” featuring the dynamic duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The latest chapter in the adrenaline-fueled saga is officially titled “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”
Marking the fourth installment of the beloved action-comedy series that kicked off in 1995, Smith and Lawrence reprise their roles as the charismatic Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. The duo initially joined forces to dismantle illegal drug operations in Miami, setting the stage for their thrilling adventures.
While Michael Bay helmed the first two movies, the directorial baton for “Bad Boys for Life” was passed to Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who are back at the helm for this new installment. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens, Eric Dane, Paola Núñez, Rhea Seehorn, Tasha Smith, and Ioan Gruffudd.
A significant hiatus of seventeen years separated the release of “Bad Boys II” in 2003 from “Bad Boys for Life” in 2020. The latter, premiering just before the COVID-19 pandemic led to widespread cinema closures, was a box office triumph, grossing $426.5 million globally.
In January, Smith and Lawrence took to social media to share a heartwarming reunion video, exciting fans with the announcement of the fourth film under the caption, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”
“Bad Boys for Life” introduced audiences to a gripping narrative where Mike Lowrey finds himself targeted by Armando (Jacob Scipio), a young man under orders from his mother Isabel (Kate del Castillo) to avenge his father’s death by killing those responsible. The plot thickens with the revelation that Armando is actually Mike’s son, and a post-credits scene teases the possibility of father and son joining forces.
“Bad Boys 4” is slated for a cinematic release on June 7. Fans are encouraged to watch the trailer below and prepare for another exhilarating ride with the baddest boys in town.
