Celine Dion shared a heartfelt message on social media, marking March 15 as International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day. She described her fight with the condition as “one of the hardest experiences of my life.”
In the shared photo, Dion is seen enjoying time with her sons, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy Angélil, at a K1 Speed go-kart racing event.
In December 2022, Dion revealed her diagnosis with the rare autoimmune disorder, which has since kept her from returning to the stage. She has had to reschedule performances at Resorts World Theatre and her international “Courage” tour.
Despite her health challenges, Dion has been seen in public. She presented the Grammy for Album of the Year to Taylor Swift in Los Angeles last month. Additionally, she attended two Vegas Golden Knights hockey games – one against the Montreal Canadiens in November and another against the Edmonton Oilers shortly after the Grammys.
In her Instagram post, Dion shared her hope and determination. She wrote, “… I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team, and all of you.”
