Following the revelation that Jenn Tran will be the next Bachelorette, ABC unveiled images of the 28 potential suitors vying for her heart this season.
“EARLY LOOK ALERT. 👀 Get a first glimpse at the potential suitors for this season of #TheBachelorette!” announced the show’s official Facebook page, inviting fans to drop a 🌹 for their top pick for the first impression rose.
Among the photos, 29-year-old Aaron from Tulsa, Oklahoma, caught the audience’s attention as the sibling of Noah Erb, a notable figure from Bachelorette season 16. Noah found love on the seventh season of Bachelor in Paradise, where he got engaged to Abigail Heringer.
Jenn’s selection as the Bachelorette came as a surprising twist, especially since she was sent home by Joey Graziadei before the hometown dates. The expectation was that either Maria Georgas or Daisy Kent, both of whom have garnered significant social media followings, would be the next to distribute roses. Despite Daisy, 25, expressing to Jesse Palmer during After the Final Rose that she wasn’t prepared to take on the role of the Bachelorette, Maria, 29, showed her support for Jenn, 26, from the audience.
“This journey has been unbelievably wild, and all I can wish for them is to truly open their hearts to it because that’s exactly what I did, and it was incredibly rewarding,” Jenn shared with the astonished audience. “Even though it didn’t conclude the way I had hoped, I evolved and learned so much from the experience… I’m really looking forward to some incredible fun.”
Jenn, who is currently studying to become a physician assistant, breaks new ground as the first Asian American lead in the franchise’s history.
“I’m incredibly grateful and honored to be the franchise’s first Asian Bachelorette,” she expressed. “Standing here today, ready to embark on my own love story, being the protagonist of my tale, it’s overwhelming to think about the number of people I might inspire.”
The Bachelorette is slated for a summer premiere.
