Prom Queen’ Assembles Star-Studded Cast for Upcoming Production

Netflix has unveiled the star-studded cast for its upcoming “Fear Street: Prom Queen,” the latest addition to the “Fear Street” series. The lineup boasts talents like India Fowler of “The Nevers” and “Insomnia” fame, Suzanna Son known for her roles in “Red Rocket” and “The Idol,” Fina Strazza from “Paper Girls” and “Above the Shadows,” David Iacono of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” and “Cinnamon,” Ella Rubin in “The Idea of You,” Chris Klein from “Sweet Magnolias” and the iconic “American Pie,” alongside Lili Taylor of “Outer Range” and “Manhunt,” and Katherine Waterston from “The End We Start From” and “Perry Mason.”

Set to thrill teenage horror fans, “Fear Street: Prom Queen” draws inspiration from R.L. Stine’s 1992 novel “The Prom Queen.” The film’s plot thickens around Shadyside High’s prom season, where the school’s elite group of It Girls engages in their typical ruthless quest for the crown. However, the nomination of a daring outsider and the mysterious disappearance of other girls turn the class of ’88’s prom night into an unforgettable horror spectacle.

Yvonne Bernard, Joan Waricha, and Jane Stine are on board as executive producers, with Caroline Pitofsky managing the production for Chernin Entertainment. The production team includes Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Kori Adelson, representing Chernin Entertainment.

The announcement of this new “Fear Street” installment came from Stine himself in January, revealing that Netflix was developing another film based on his book “The Prom Queen.” “Movie News: I can finally announce that a new ‘Fear Street’ movie is about to go into production for Netflix,” Stine shared excitedly. “It’s based on my ‘Fear Street’ book, ‘The Prom Queen.’ Good news!”

This film marks the fourth “Fear Street” movie on Netflix, following the 2021 trilogy directed by Leigh Janiak — “Fear Street Part One: 1994,” “Fear Street Part Two: 1978,” and “Fear Street Part Three: 1666.”

The cast’s representation includes Paradigm, Kipperman Management, and imPRint for Rubin; Curtis Brown for Fowler; Stride Management and Jackoway Austen et al for Son; and Rebel Creative Group & Imprint PR for Iacono.
