Mega Millions Jackpot Soars to $875 Million

On Friday night, the Mega Millions jackpot did not find a winner, which increased the prize to an impressive $875 million.

The jackpot was initially $815 million before the draw. The numbers drawn were 13, 25, 50, 51, and 66, with the Mega Ball being 6 and the Megaplier set at 5X.

This marked the 28th time in a row that no ticket matched all six numbers, as stated on the Mega Millions website. This event also placed the jackpot as the sixth highest in the game’s history, with the top five prizes all exceeding $1 billion.

Should a single ticket win on Tuesday, the lucky holder has the option to receive the jackpot in 30 yearly payments or opt for a one-time lump sum of approximately $413.5 million.

The last time the jackpot was won was on December 8, when two tickets from California shared $395 million.

Additionally, there was a second-tier winner this Friday. A ticket from New York matched all five white Powerball numbers.

Mega Millions tickets are available in 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The cost per ticket is generally $2, with an additional $1 for those opting to include the Megaplier, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes.

The draws take place at 11 p.m. EDT every Tuesday and Friday.
