Nashville, TN Teams Mobilize to Retrieve Body Discovered in Cumberland River

In Nashville, Tennessee, emergency teams are currently engaged in a mission to retrieve a body discovered in the Cumberland River.

The Nashville Fire Department shared that the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency informed the Office of Emergency Management about the sighting of a body in the river near the Martin Luther King Bridge on Sunday, March 17.

Officials noted that the person was seen wearing a maroon shirt and did not match the description of a student who was reported missing.

The Fire Department has initiated a recovery operation by deploying a boat with a Metro Nashville police officer aboard to secure the body.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will continue to oversee the situation at the scene.
