Twin Heroically Attempts to Shield Sister in Tragic Park Slope Stabbing Incident Following Drunken Assault

In a heart-wrenching incident in Brooklyn, the twin sister of a 19-year-old girl has shared the tragic story of how her sister lost her life. The young woman was fatally stabbed after she declined a man’s request to follow him back on Instagram. This refusal led to a deadly confrontation outside a local deli.

Sanyia Spain and her twin sister, Samyia, were enjoying a break from a family game night. They decided to visit the Slope Natural Plus deli on Fourth Avenue in Park Slope. It was around 2:20 a.m. on a Sunday. During their walk, a friend noticed that a man was following Samyia.

Sanyia recalled the terrifying moments that followed. She tried to intervene by grabbing her sister’s phone and urging her to move away from the man. Sanyia questioned her sister about her interaction with the stranger, to which Samyia responded that she had no interest in talking to him.

To try and diffuse the situation, Samyia eventually gave the man her Instagram handle. However, she made it clear that she had no intention of following him back. This rejection infuriated the man.

The altercation escalated quickly, resulting in Samyia being stabbed in the chest. She was rushed to New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Sanyia also suffered a stab wound to her arm but was in stable condition after receiving medical attention.

This tragic event has left a family grieving and a community in shock. The senseless violence over a mere social media interaction highlights the dangers that can lurk in everyday situations.
