In Putnam County, West Virginia, authorities have apprehended a man following a pursuit that culminated in a direct collision with a Mason County Deputy’s vehicle.

Bernard Legg, a 36-year-old resident of Fraziers Bottom, faces several accusations. These include two instances of malicious assault and three instances of property destruction, as confirmed by the West Virginia State Police.

The chase, described as low-speed by officials, saw Legg allegedly driving while impaired.

Sheriff Bobby Eggleton of Putnam County disclosed that the incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on a Friday. Legg is now being held at the Western Regional Jail.
