NYSP Confiscates $3M and 12 Kilos of Cocaine in Major Drug Bust

In Albany, New York, a significant drug bust led to the arrest of a 60-year-old man from the Bronx, identified as Juan Rondon. Authorities reported the seizure of an estimated 12 kilograms of cocaine and the discovery of $3 million in cash. Rondon now faces several charges in connection with this major operation.

The New York State Police (NYSP), specifically members of Troop K VGNET, conducted a thorough investigation that directed them to the Bronx. This investigation was supported by a search warrant issued by the New York City Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor. Upon executing the warrant at Rondon’s residence, officers uncovered the substantial quantity of cocaine and the hidden cash.

The operation resulted in Rondon facing serious charges, including first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. These charges reflect the severity of the crimes and the substantial amount of illegal drugs involved.

NYSP Acting Superintendent Steven G. James commended the collaborative effort of law enforcement agencies in achieving this significant drug seizure. He emphasized the operation’s impact on saving lives and curbing the violence associated with drug trafficking. Superintendent James reaffirmed the commitment of the New York State Police to work tirelessly with their partners to apprehend individuals involved in such dangerous activities and ensure their prosecution.

This bust highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking and the dedication of law enforcement agencies to protect communities from the harm caused by illegal drugs.
