In a tragic incident that unfolded on Monday evening in Louisville’s Okolona neighborhood, police are currently on the hunt for a driver implicated in a deadly hit-and-run. The event took place around 9 p.m. along the 7100 block of Preston Highway, near Chateau Lane, prompting immediate response from Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) officers following reports of a pedestrian being hit.
The investigation has led authorities to believe that a northbound car struck an adult male who was walking along Preston Highway. In a distressing turn of events, the driver did not stop to offer assistance and instead chose to flee the scene.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were swiftly called to the location, where they pronounced the victim deceased.
The vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run is described as a white passenger sedan, notable for damage on its front passenger side. After the incident, the driver is reported to have continued northbound on Preston Highway, with witnesses last spotting the vehicle making a right turn onto Fern Valley Road.
This incident did not involve any other vehicles, and LMPD’s Traffic Unit has taken charge of the ongoing investigation.
