Medford Dog Walker Faces Animal Cruelty Charges, According to Police

On a recent Sunday in Medford, a dog walker found himself under arrest after onlookers reported seeing him repeatedly strike one of the dogs under his care on the head, as confirmed by local police authorities.

The individual in question, 33-year-old Frederick Ingrando of Medford, now faces charges of animal cruelty, as detailed in a statement by the police department.

The incident that led to Ingrando’s arrest unfolded on the morning of March 24, around 11 a.m., at the crossroads of Fellsway West and Sheridan Avenue. According to police reports, witnesses observed Ingrando hitting a dog on the head multiple times and then lifting the animal off the ground by its collar in a manner deemed harmful.

One of the witnesses managed to capture video evidence of the disturbing act, which subsequently allowed law enforcement officers to identify Ingrando as the perpetrator. Following this identification, officers proceeded to Ingrando’s residence, where they apprehended him.

It was revealed that Ingrando, a professional dog walker, was not the owner of the dogs he was walking. Following his arrest, the authorities took steps to ensure the dogs were removed from his home and placed in a secure location, where they awaited collection by their rightful owners.

The dog subjected to the assault was promptly taken to a local veterinarian for a thorough examination. Meanwhile, the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
