Murder Charges Filed in Tragic Death of Washington University Student and Talented Dancer

In St. Louis, authorities have detained a local man linked to the tragic demise of a Washington University international student, who was on the brink of a promising career in dance.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on February 27, on the 5100 block of Delmar Boulevard near Clarendon Avenue, situated in the Academy neighborhood.

Amarnath Ghosh was discovered on the street, suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite efforts, Ghosh was declared dead at the scene. At 34 years old, he was found not far from his residence.

Ghosh was nearing the completion of his Master of Fine Arts degree at Washington University, with just two months to go.

Glenn Bailey, 46, was later identified and captured by homicide detectives as the suspect in this case. The motive behind the murder has yet to be revealed by the investigators.

On the past Friday, the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Bailey with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Currently, Bailey is being held in jail without the possibility of bond.
