Man Charged with Attempted Murder Following Dispute Over Cats, Allegedly Shot Roommate 10 Times

In Lehigh Acres, Florida, a dispute about the number of cats in a home took a violent turn, resulting in a woman being shot 10 times. This shocking incident has caught the attention of the local community.

Glenn William White II, 59, from Lehigh Acres, found himself in custody on March 9. He faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, as per the records from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The root of the conflict traces back to White’s eviction from his residence. A woman generously offered him shelter in her home. Initially, White brought along three cats, but the number soon grew to six, leading to tension between him and the homeowner.

Reports indicate that the disagreement intensified over the days. The woman preferred the cats to stay outside, but White insisted on keeping them indoors. The situation escalated when the woman decided to move the cats outside, prompting a violent reaction from White.

According to deputies, White shot the woman multiple times as she attempted to gather the cats. The injuries she sustained included seven shots to her lower body, two to her right rib, and one to her left middle finger.

Following the shooting, White reportedly threatened the woman’s life and interfered with her attempt to call for help. However, he eventually contacted emergency services himself.

The victim received medical attention at a local hospital, while White was taken into custody and held at the Lee County Jail. His bail was set at $25,000, with a court appearance scheduled for April 8.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly disputes can escalate into violence, leaving communities in shock and families in distress.
